WHAT DOES A JAMKIDS YEAR LOOK LIKE?

Autumn term starts on week 35 and spring term on week 2. We will inform you by email if there are any changes to this.

Music playschool for 0–1 year-olds (30 min)

There are 13 classes in autumn term and 15 classes in spring term. Everyone is welcome to Jamkids concerts (please see below) even though 0–1 year-olds don’t actually participate in them.

Music playschool for 2–6 year-olds (40-45 min)

There are 14 classes in autumn term and 16 classes in spring term. We organise a Jamkids concert towards the end of each term and this is counted as one class. We will send you a separate email info about the concerts. Jumppamuskari term doesn’t include concert.

Parents will be able to join Bändimuskari and Jumppamuskari class (for 4–6 years) once each term for 15 minutes. This class is separately organised as an opportunity for parents to learn more about Jamkids. Your teacher will inform you the details of this class by email.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS?

All outdoor clothing and shoes will be left outside the classroom. We recommend indoor slippers to be used in the class. Please make sure your child has visited the toilet and washed their hands before the start of the class. We allow a drinking bottle per child in the class but please do not bring any snacks into the classroom. Please bring your child and pick them up in time.

Note! You will need to pick up your child from the outside of the classroom. We can’t give the children permission to leave the building without a parent. Remember not to bring your child to the class if they are not feeling well – bugs spread fast in groups, as we all know.

In exceptional circumstances only, we do allow older siblings to come to stay in the classroom. However, this will always have to be organised and separately agreed with the teacher. If the older sibling is inside the classroom during the class, please make sure they have something to do as we can’t have them disturbing the class.

HOW WILL I FIND OUT ABOUT IMPORTANT THINGS?

Not to worry! We will send a Jamkids Info Email to you a couple of times during term. We would recommend you read through these emails as they will consist of important information concerning the class your child is participating in. Your teacher will also inform you about important matters by email.

If we for some reason have to suddenly cancel your class, you will be informed by SMS. Please make sure your contact details are up to date all the time!

HOW DOES INVOICING WORK?

We will send an invoice by email for each term at the start of term. You will have an option to pay the invoice in two installments. Any enquiries concerning invoices by email to [email protected] or by phone at 0400 471 673.

WHAT IF JAMKIDS CANCELS THE CLASS?

In the event of the teacher falling ill, we will do our best to find a substitute. If we can’t organise a substitute, we will cancel the class and the cancelled class will be compensated with either an extra class at the end of the term or organised separately. You will be informed by SMS, if we have to cancel your class.

WHAT IF WE CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE CLASS?

If possible, please inform us well in advance, either on the previous class or by email. Jamkids follows the general practice of music schools in Finland according to which absences from classes are not compensated.

WHAT IS JAMKIDS’ CANCELLATION POLICY LIKE?

Registration to Jamkids music playschool is for the whole school year (autumn & spring terms). We require cancellations to be made minimum 4 weeks before the start of term. We will charge 50% of the price of the term, if cancellation is made later than 4 weeks before start of term. In the case of cancellation after classes have already started, we will charge 100% of the price of the term.

WHAT IS JAMKIDS’ MOBILE PHONE POLICY LIKE?

We want to ensure the data protection rights of all the children and make sure that the class is all about the kids, so you will be required to keep your mobile phone in your pocket for the duration of the class. However, you will have an opportunity to take photos of those important Jamkids memories in specific classes the dates of which your teacher will inform you.

DOES JAMKIDS INSURE THE KIDS DURING CLASS?

No. In most cases, family leisure time insurance is included in home insurance, which makes it unnecessary for Jamkids to have a separate double-insurance. Please make sure your child is insured in your insurance scheme.

DOES JAMKIDS CREATE THEIR OWN MUSIC?

We do indeed! Our very own Jamkids Musiikkisirkus -album is full of fun new music for kids, all created by the talented bunch of Jamkids teachers. Check out the album here. We have a special price of 10 euros for Jamkids customers only.

In our classes we, of course, use old and new, familiar children’s music too.

Also, we have published an application: Jamkids Musiikkimaailma, where you find muskari videos and games for children. Check out here.

CAN WE PRACTICE AT HOME?

Sure! Although, it’s not required by us. However, home exercises are an important part of Jamkids band classes (4–6 year olds). We will send the exercises to you by email (as an attachment) at start of each term with no extra cost. Our teachers create new exercises for each term (autumn & spring).

If you’d prefer, we can print out the exercises for you and you can pick them up from class. Please send an email to [email protected]. There will be an extra cost of 5 euros for this.

We also warmly recommend listening to Jamkids Musiikkisirkus album at home, as we use these songs often also in class.
