Service provider: Jamkids
Customer: the child’s parent/guardian/other
Student: the child attending the classes
Payer: the person paying for the service (parent/guardian/other)
School year: fall term + spring term
School term: fall term (August–December) + spring term (January–May)
1. We welcome all 0–6-year-old children to our classes. There are no entrance tests. No previous musical skills are required.
2. Jamkids classes follow the Jamkids Musiikkikoulu curriculum (basic education in the arts, general syllabus).
3. Student registration and cancellation of registration is always done through the Eepos registration system. Registration and cancellation of a minor aged student is done by the guardian.
4. Registration is binding and applies to the entire school year (autumn + spring term). Please find our cancellation policy below (7.).
5. We allow attendance in one class to try out if there is availability in the group and if the registration for the term has not been done yet. The trial is always arranged in advance with Jamkids Customer Service. We charge the equivalent of one class for the trial class.
6. We accept new children also during the school term and year, depending on availability. The price is determined according to the number of classes remaining in the term. Note! The sibling price of 60 euros is for the term. There are no deductions made from this.
7. All cancellations must be done via the electronic registration system Eepos, no later than four weeks before the start of the term. Note! Cancellations done verbally or by email are not valid. If the cancellation is made less than four weeks before the start of the term, half (50%) of the price for the term will be charged.
8. If cancellation is done after the start of the term or during the term, the fee will be charged in full (100%). The lessons missed are not compensated. In special cases (like in cases of long illnesses) the cancellation and possible compensation can be negotiated separately, always beforehand/without delay in the event of an illness. The registration cannot be cancelled nor the compensation applied for afterwards.
9. The payer agrees to pay the fees as stated in the valid and current price list. The final responsibility for the payment of the fee always rests with the guardian who made the registration for that particular child. If ‘other’ is declared as the payer and they do not pay the invoice, the payment can then be charged to the guardian.
10. A deposit of 30 euros is required at registration. This payment is made directly in the registration system via Paytrail. The deposit will be deducted from the final invoice.
11. Invoices will be sent just before or at the beginning of each term (spring/autumn). We accept payments for each invoice in two installments; the first payment being received by due date and the second no later than one month after the original due date of the invoice. A service charge of 5 euros will be added to the second installment. An additional fee may be charged for payment reminders. Jamkids has the right to terminate the student place if the invoice has not been paid. The termination of a student place does not, however, remove the obligation to pay the invoice for the ongoing term.
12. Jamkids has the right to check the credit details of the payer. If the payer does not have credit ratings or has several payment delays, Jamkids has the right to charge the term fee in total (100%) before the start of term.
13. The duration of autumn term is 14 classes, one of which is a concert. For 30-minute and Music & Movement groups, the duration of the autumn term is 13 classes (no concert). Autumn term classes start on week 35 (unless otherwise informed).
14. The duration of spring term is 16 classes, one of which is a concert. For 30-minute and Music & Movement groups, the duration of the spring term is 15 classes (no concert). Spring term classes start the week after Epiphany (loppiainen) (unless otherwise informed).
15. The minimum size of the groups is 5. For Music & Movement groups, the minimum size is 8. If there are less than the minimum number of children in the group, Jamkids has the right to organize the class with a shorter duration. The price of these classes stays the same.
16. Classes are generally held at the same time every week as stated in the weekly curriculum. In case of a teacher’s illness, compensation classes can be arranged at another time and in another location if necessary. Jamkids reserves the right to changes in schedule during the term and at the turn of the year.
17. Student absences (travel, illness or other reasons) will not be reimbursed or compensated. A student’s absence should always be reported to the teacher via Eepos. In special circumstances (e.g. longer periods of illness) possible reimbursements can be negotiated separately, always beforehand/without delay. The student place is not possible to cancel nor apply for compensation afterwards.
18. In case of a teacher’s illness, Jamkids will primarily try to arrange a substitute for the class.
19. Classes cancelled due to an unexpected and sudden absence of the teacher, will be replaced at an announced time before the end of the term. This class can also be held in another location and/or on a different weekday. One of the classes of the term can also be replaced with video or other material.
20. Jamkids Concert is counted as one of the classes for the 2–6-year-olds each term (not applicable to Music & Movement groups). We recommend participation but it is voluntary. We would appreciate it if the teacher were informed beforehand if the child is not intending to participate in the concert. Absence from the concert will not be compensated.
21. The registration form (Eepos) is used to grant or deny permission to publish image and audio materials related to Jamkids. We will not associate names to published material.
22. Most of the communication by Jamkids will be done via Eepos, e.g. info emails and other announcements will only be sent via Eepos. Unexpected and sudden cancellations of classes (due to teacher’s illness and other unexpected reasons) will be notified by SMS. The customer is responsible for the contact information to always be up to date (email and phone number).
23. If organizing face-to-face classes is impossible for reasons beyond the control of Jamkids, the classes can also be arranged remotely.
24. Classes missed due to force majeure reasons will not be compensated or reimbursed. Force majeure refers to reasons beyond the service provider’s control, which could not have been foreseen when making the contract and because of which the teaching cannot be organized. Such reasons are for example measures taken by the authorities, natural disasters, a dangerous infectious epidemic and the precautions taken because of it, a state of war, social unrest, a serious accident, a strike, a lockout by an employer’s organization or another reason with equally significant and unusual effects.
